Librarian for Children’s & Teen Services - Essex

programming for all age groups. The library serves a close knit and
supportive community of more than 6,600 residents. We maintain a
physical collection of more than 37,000 items in a welcoming and vibrant
9,550 square foot facility with dedicated children’s and teen spaces.

We are seeking creative, energetic, and engaging professionals to join
our team as Librarian for Children’s & Teen Services.
The
Librarian for Children’s & Teen Services curates and maintains a
collection of more than 13,000 books for children, young adults, parents
and educators. S/He provides individual and group training for patrons
and staff, coordinates outreach, programs and services with area
schools, and develops and implements high quality programming for
children and teens. S/He also provides circulation services and
coordinates social media and marketing projects. This position requires
the ability to engage, encourage, develop, and sustain partnerships with
area families, schools, and organizations to promote library services
and resources. We seek a self-starter who has strong initiative and the
ability to carry projects to completion with minimal supervision. The
successful candidate will have a graduate degree in library or
information science and an aptitude for growth in the position; teaching
experience preferred.
Salary is competitive and commensurate
with experience. This full-time exempt position comes with budgeting

hours are required.
