Library Technical Assistant, Makerspace - New Britain Public Library. Reports to: Head of Adult Services. Starting Salary: $17.41 per hour. Schedule: Part-time (20 hours per week).
Position Summary: The LTA - Makerspace is a paraprofessional who is
responsible for library work for Makerspace activities. This position is
cross-trained to provide services in other departments of the Library,
as needed.
Qualifications: Associates degree; two years of
library experience or an equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience.
Responsibilities: Provides basic instruction on
Makerspace equipment. Troubleshoots issues with Makerspace equipment.
Provides assistance for programs. Collects data and provides statistical
reports on Makerspace usage. Schedules Makerspace time/attendees using
the Library’s scheduling software. Manages the Makerspace “store”
keeping track of inventory and payments. Obtains new
materials/implements new services based on knowledge of Makerspace.
Works with supervisor to assess Makerspace services.
