Digital Library Manager - Choate Rosemary Hall. The
Digital Library Manager is responsible for the management,
implementation, and maintenance of digital library resources including
digital content such as e-books, databases, websites, and the library
system. This role ensures interactive user engagement with library
digital content and investigates and promotes new methods and tools for
keeping the library’s digital presence fresh. Performs advanced work in
tracking resource usage, facilitating the compilation of analytical
data, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing all aspects of
digital library resources. Manages technology support and equipment
checkout in the library for students, in collaboration with Information
Technology Department.
This is a benefit eligible position,
scheduled to work 37 hours per week, over the academic year in a
combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts each week.
Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates and maintains content for web
services that provide a quality user experience. Open or close the
library according to procedures. Identifies, develops, and delivers
patron instruction in the use of the library’s digital resources.
Manages the Library's licensed digital resources, including tasks
related to implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of
resources. Manages and maintains library website, online catalog, and
databases. Works cooperatively with librarians and staff to promote the
use of digital tools and resources to serve our community. Oversee
student technical support services. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates
all aspects of library’s digital services. Works with vendors for
ongoing maintenance, development and support concerning features and
functions the library requires to maintain digital services. Assists
students and other library patrons in locating resources by answering
questions, gathering materials, demonstrating use of equipment and
various software. Participates in the ASKUS desk rotation and is
responsible for providing exemplary customer service for students,
employees, and visitors. Maintains interfaces between the library’s
integrated system and third-party products, in-house developed products,
self-service checkout, computer reservation systems, and web-based
applications that require authentication. Collects and maintains
statistical data and provide reports on digital resources and services
to Library Director. Oversees acquisition, training, and troubleshooting
for technology resources in the library.
Requirements:
Experience managing and transforming data in multiple formats.
Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot technical problems and
implement solutions. Proficiency working with digital library resources
and databases. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information
science, or closely related field.
