Southern Connecticut State University Library Services is seeking a part time adjunct librarian to support makerspace programming and services. The librarian will work up to 19 hours per week, flexible hours, which may include some evenings and weekends. The librarian will coordinate makerspace initiatives like scheduling desk hours, maintaining maker equipment and lending collections, overseeing 3D printing requests, maintaining Makerspace web pages, working with outreach partners to provide workshops and instruction, and collaborating with teaching faculty on programing. The librarian will also be a member of the Library Makerspace Team developing goals and outcomes, seeking grants, and recommending new equipment purchases. Assists with library systems projects as needed.
Minimum qualifications required: ALA accredited MLS or equivalent; experience in library programming and/or outreach; familiarity with current trends in library programming, specifically in Makerspace initiatives. Preferred qualifications: Experience in a library makerspace either as staff or volunteer; familiarity with 3D printing. Salary exceeds CLA minimum salary guidelines.
