Director - Westfield Memorial Library (NJ). The Westfield Memorial Library (NJ) Board of Trustees seeks a dynamic, action-oriented library professional to lead our vibrant public library. The new director will have a unique opportunity to lead the Westfield Memorial Library into the future with evolving plans for reimagining and modernizing the library facility. The Library’s recently completed strategic plan “Inspire, Connect and Engage,” provides a roadmap for the library’s transformation, defining a continued commitment to community engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and continuous improvement. 
     The Director will lead staff, collaborate with the Board of Trustees, Town Council, School Board, community organizations and other stakeholders to bring their high-energy leadership to help fulfill the library’s mission to “connect and engage all residents to make Westfield a better place to live.” The director should be knowledgeable about technology and its use in libraries and be able to manage a facility and staff of 46 FT, PT and pages, with an annual budget of $2.7 million. The successful candidate will also have experience with private fundraising and collaborate closely with the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library and the Westfield Memorial Library Foundation.

     Qualifications: An ALA accredited master’s degree in Library/Information Science is required as well as eligibility for a NJ State Public Librarian Certification. Experience in public or academic library leadership, administration and management is preferred, in conjunction with a minimum of six-years’ experience working in a library. The director is required to be a NJ resident within one year of employment.
