Part-Time Children's Librarian - Windsor Public Library has an excellent opportunity for an ALA
accredited MLS Part-Time Children’s Librarian with experience in public
library operations.

the ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to serving children
and their caregivers through programming and collection development.
They will assist the Children’s Services Librarian in the essential
functions of our Kidspace Dept. and work closely with the other members
of the Kidspace team. The candidate will work to develop and run a
variety of Kidspace programs including storytime and specialty programs
for children between the ages of 0 and 11 and be able to provide
reference assistance and readers advisory to children and adults at our
busy Kidspace desk. Additional duties may include writing both in-house
and local publicity for Kidspace programs, book displays, providing
computer assistance to children, and additional tasks as needed.

and organized. Able to communicate effectively and respectfully, orally
and in writing. Flexible in managing changing priorities and meeting
deadlines. Able to work in a fast paced, customer service environment.
Minimum requirements: Master’s Degree in Library Science; plus one (1)
or more years library experience working with children; be comfortable
working with computers, technology and social media; be proficient with
MS Office Suite, Internet, and other programs as needed; familiarity
with library specific applications (e.g., Innovative Interfaces ILS) a
plus.
Scheduled hours: Tuesday 9:00AM-2:00PM, Wednesday
10:30-7PM and Friday 9AM-5:00PM, and work one Saturday or Sunday a month
in lieu of another shift for a total of 20 hours per week.
Hourly Rate: $18-$22/hr., depending on qualifications and experience.
