Cataloging and Reader Services Librarian – Library Association of Warehouse Point, East Windsor. The Warehouse Point Library has a part-time opening (29 hrs/wk) including
evenings and Saturday for a customer services and cataloging librarian.
Working knowledge and experience with Sierra (III) a plus. Provides
welcoming customer service including check in/check out of library
materials, providing assistance in finding materials both in person and
over the phone, registering new borrowers, computing and collecting
overdue fines, participating in the Library’s opening and closing
procedures. Provides readers’ advisory, technology assistance, and
reference services. Places new materials in the collection, completes
copy-cataloging, and contributes to maintaining an accurate and current
online catalog. Interacts and teams with other Library staff to respond
in a timely and efficient manner to patron requests and library
projects. Must be technologically proficient. Demonstrates ability to be
continuously welcoming, friendly, and helpful to patrons. Thorough
knowledge of library technology, general public reading interests, and
reference services. Ability to discuss books effectively. Knowledge of
philosophy and functions of a public library and ability to project a
positive image of the Library. Proficiency with electronic devices such
as smart phones and tablets. Proficiency in using MS office suite and
computer-based presentation tools. Ability in basic graphic design and
use of social media tools including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Experience with website and content management systems.
Associate’s degree in library technology or bachelor’s degree, and 3
