Library Media Specialist - Regional School District 14 (.6 FTE), Bethlehem Elementary School. START DATE: August 31, 2020. GENERAL DUTIES: The Library Media Specialist is responsible for helping students develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to become effective and self-directed learners. The LMS prepares students to be critical thinkers, responsible creators, effective communicators, engaged readers, and skillful researchers. In addition, the Library Media Specialist is responsible for collaborating with teachers in order to provide instruction, resources, and materials to support and enrich the curriculum. This person provides leadership and instruction in the use of technologies and resources to engage students and foster a culture of creativity, investigation, and inquiry. The LMS teaches and reinforces the appropriate, responsible use of information and technology. QUALIFICATIONS: School Library-Media Specialist Certification (062).
