Head of Technical Services - Woodbridge Town Library. Due
to a retirement, the Woodbridge Town Library is seeking a creative,
energetic and detail-oriented professional librarian to head our
Technical Services Department and serve as a key member of the Library’s
management team. This position is responsible for overseeing all
services provided by the Technical Services Department, including
acquisitions, cataloging, processing and maintenance of all library
materials. Personally performs all cataloging and classification duties
and supervises staff of two part-time assistants. Prepares monthly
reports for Director and works closely with business office to ensure
that all book accounts balance. Position staffs the Reference Desk on
rotating Saturdays and when otherwise needed.
A Master’s Degree
in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program plus 1 -2 years
cataloging experience is required. Strong working knowledge of
bibliographic maintenance standards including Dewey Decimal
Classification, MARC, AACR2 and RDA is required. Public Library
experience and supervisory experience are preferred. Knowledge of the
Sierra Integrated Library System, including the acquisition module, and
LION Consortium cataloging standards is a plus.
This is a full
time position with benefits at 35 hours per week. Salary range from
$52,000 to $56,000, depending on experience. Interested candidates
