Library Director - Willimantic Public Library, Willimantic, CT. The Town of Windham seeks qualified applicants for the
position of Library Director. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk).
The Library Director plans, organizes, and directs a comprehensive
program of community library, informational, educational, cultural,
communications, and related services; oversees the care and maintenance
of the Town Library building, equipment, and systems, and formulates
library policies and programs for review by the Library Board and
direction of the Town Manager. The Library Director is responsible for
the development of the library’s budget, overseeing technology and
collection development in the library, and for maintaining positive
relations within the community with patrons and community partners.
Must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited
college or university; plus ten (10) years of progressively responsible
library work, including five (5) years in the supervision of a public
library major department, or as a director of a smaller public library;
and a strong background in children programming; or in lieu thereof, an
equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that
provides the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential
functions of the position. Bilingual (English and Spanish), desired.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
