Librarian I, Children's Services - The West Hartford Libraries, located in a vibrant,
engaged and diverse community, seek a library professional to be part of
a strong team headed by the Children’s Services Librarian. The ideal
candidate will be an innovative, enthusiastic and energetic team player
who collaborates and shares ideas with a dedicated Children’s Services
team serving the children ages infant through age 12.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience
as follows: developing, organizing, coordinating and presenting
exceptional and imaginative programming for families with children ages
infant through age 12; planning and implementing outreach activities
that include school visits, book talks, skypes, evening events at
schools, parks and community events; proficiency in performing readers’
advisory to a sophisticated community of young readers; strong customer
service skills; familiarity with standard public library services and
resources for all age levels including adults; proficiency in a language
other than English.
