Head of Information Services - The Public Library of New London seeks a full time Head of
Information Services with exceptional customer service skills and an
enthusiasm to work on new and big projects. This is a 35 hour work week
position with a salary of $50,000 with a variable schedule that includes
daytime and evening hours and Saturdays in rotation.
The person holding this position oversees collection
development, is responsible for the Non Profit Resource Center and
serves as the library webmaster. Other responsibilities include staffing
a busy reference desk, promoting community outreach and programming.
He/She will be recruiting volunteers and will organize and conduct
programs for the diverse community of New London. He/She will be
preparing reports and maintain statistics for the department.
Minimum Requirements: ALA accredited MLS. One year of
experience working as a professional public librarian in adult services.
One year of demonstrated experience planning and presenting public
activities, events and workshops. A thorough knowledge of Word Press
website software or other similar website maintenance programs are
required for this position. Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills are necessary.
