Children’s Librarian - Cromwell Belden Public Library. The Cromwell Belden Public Library seeks an
enthusiastic individual to join our team as Children’s Librarian. This
position is responsible for oversight of the library’s children and
young adult departments and will work closely with the Director and
Adult Services librarian.
Examples of duties: Review and select materials for
children, teens and parents. Plan, implement, market and supervise
youth programs. Coordinate with town departments as well as other
agencies. Provide reader’s advisory and outreach services for youth
and families. Train and supervise library staff.
Requirements: Preferred requirements include an MLS
from an ALA accredited institution along with experience working in
children’s services, excellent knowledge of children’s literature,
library trends, and strong customer service skills. Public library
experience is strongly preferred. Equivalent combination of education,
training and experience will be considered.
This position is 35 hours per week, includes nights and
weekends and provides excellent benefits. Salary range is
$57,334-$80,674. Anticipated start date is January 1, 2019.
