Head of Information Services - The Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library is seeking an experienced information professional to lead its department of information services and assist the director in administering the various departments and services of the library. Qualified candidates must have an ALA MLS, three years progressively responsible library experience; possess excellent interpersonal skills, a track record of outstanding customer service and a strong interest in providing outreach to the community; knowledge of current reference practices and trends and experience with integrated library systems, preferably III. This position includes participating in budget and planning activities, daily managerial duties related to library operations, personnel and technical services; supervision of two reference librarians and one part time cataloger; responsible for developing and maintaining adult collections, providing reference services, instructing the public on the use of electronic resources, overseeing interlibrary loan services. This is a full time (35 hours per week) supervisory position that includes evening and weekend hours. Starting salary is $40,000-$43,000 DOE, with benefits.
