Instructional Design Librarian - Mitchell College

Instructional Design Librarian - STARTING DATE: January 2, 2007. Mitchell College, a private, higher education institution, seeks an energetic and innovative individual to join the Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) team. She/he will support the planning, design, delivery, and assessment of library instruction programs and services; use educational technologies in support of academic curricular development and design; develop, implement and evaluate information literacy programs and resources for faculty and students; and participate in the LITS liaison program to: (1) help faculty integrate the use and evaluation of print and digital resources into their teaching, and (2) further the collection development effort through faculty participation. For list of responsibilities for this full-time, 12-month position, see www.mitchell.edu. QUALIFICATIONS: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited library school. Minimum of two years professional library experience and demonstrated professional accomplishments. Additional training or certification for instructional design and technology in education preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise with a variety of web-deliverable instructional module authoring tools and web applications, including (but not limited to) FrontPage, Dream Weaver, Flash, Macromedia Director, or Java authoring tools. Knowledge of current and emerging trends in libraries, higher education, and distance education. Strong interest in evaluating user experience and modifying interfaces and instructional content to enhance user success. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and work independently. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the Instructional Design Consultants. Works with the IRCS team to select, train and supervise IRCS student assistants and technology tutors. Responsibilities include training, directing, and assessing work and keeping the Director of IRCS advised on all vital matters associated with personnel management within the division. SALARY INFORMATION: Salary will be determined based on experience. This position's salary range is $40,689.00 - $63,068.00.
