Branch Manager Librarian - New Haven Free Public Library seeks a creative, energetic Branch Manager Librarian, who is excited about the opportunity to manage a new branch library with many state-of-the-art technology features, in a neighborhood that is among the most ethnically diverse in the City of New Haven. The branch library is a 20,000 sq ft building offering two full levels of public services, and is designed to function as both a community center, and a full-service public library. The neighborhood to be served is largely Hispanic and African-American, with a large percentage of school age children. The successful candidate will have general responsibility over a staff of 5-7 people; will possess good organizational, technology and outreach skills, will be a bilingual (English/Spanish) person, or one comfortable working in a bilingual environment. Requirements: A Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program and at least three to five years experience in professional library work, including at least one year of supervisory experience. Spanish language is highly desirable. Hiring salary range: $51,111 - $62,532, based on qualifications and experience. This position is open until filled.
