Librarian, Part-Time - Gateway Community College

Librarian, Part-Time - Educational Assistant, non-tenure track. ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: September 1, 2006. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Library Science plus one to four years related library experience. Reference and library instruction background required. Familiarity with Endeavor Voyager preferred. The college seeks applicants with demonstrated ability to respond to and work with multiple constituencies and support diverse ability levels and cultures. Computer and information literacy skills are essential. In addition, the College seeks applicants with strong personal attributes such as openness to innovation and change, use of creative approaches to problem solving, and ability to build and support consensus, as well as a record of ongoing professional development. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides assistance to patrons (students, faculty, and public) to contribute to the learning mission of the college. Instructs and advises patrons in the use of print, non-print and electronic resources. Develops and conducts classes for patrons using information literacy principles and performs circulation duties at a library service desk. Fourteen hours per week; two evenings per week from 4 to 8 PM; 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday. Applicant must be able to work at either Long Wharf or North Haven campus. MINIMUM SALARY: $25.82 per hour.
