Children's Librarian - Farmington Library

Children's Librarian - The Farmington Library Children's Department has an opening for a Children's Librarian, Librarian I, beginning July 1, 2006. The Children's Services Librarian Lib I position responsibilities include Reference and Reader's Advisory service to library customers in the Children's Department; planning and carrying out programs for children in the library, as outreach and for specific population groups; collection development for particular areas of the collection and weeding as assigned; assisting the public using SIRSI, on-line and CDROM data bases, the internet and children's computer games; website design and management; and, assisting with grant writing and management. Work includes at least one evening a week and Saturdays on a rotating schedule. Assistance at the Barney Branch may also be expected. The Children's Services Librarian I reports to the Children's Services Department Head. MLS, knowledge of children's literature and electronic resources, strong customer service bias required.
