Weekend and Evening Reference and Instruction Librarian - The United States Coast Guard Academy Library in New London, CT is looking for a librarian with a strong reference/instruction background. Major duties include providing comprehensive reference, research, advisory, evaluative and instructional services at night and on weekends (1:30 pm to 10:00 pm Sunday through Tuesday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Wednesday and Thursday while classes are in session. When classes are not in session, during breaks and summer, hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday). The librarian will also be in charge of producing web pages for the reference department. Minimum qualifications: MLS or equivalent and at least one year of professional experience. Candidate should possess the desire and ability to work in a small, specialized library and become a Jack or Jill of all trades. This is a federal civil service position with a salary range at the GS-9 level ($46,306-$60,204). The federal government provides an excellent benefits package.
