Due to a retirement, The Farmington Libraries is seeking an enthusiastic and creative part-time Youth Services Assistant to join the dynamic Youth Services Team at the Farmington Library. In this role the Youth Services Assistant will have the opportunity to plan and execute children’s programs, engage in collection development and management, and provide readers’ advisory for children birth through grade 6. This is a 28 hour/week position, including one evening shift and participation in our Saturday rotation. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a children’s department in a library or in an early childhood education setting, a solid knowledge of children’s literature and childhood development, and exceptional customer service skills. BA/BS or equivalent experience along with a minimum of one year of experience in a public/school library and two years of experience working with children. Hours: 28 hours/week. Schedule will include three days a week 9-5, one day a week 12-8, and participation in a Saturday rotation.
Hourly Rate: starting at $22.50-26.50/hour; this is a non-benefited position. Prorated paid time off and support for professional development included.
