Outreach and Technology Specialist - Richmond Memorial Library, Marlborough

Job Summary: The Richmond Memorial Library in Marlborough is seeking an outgoing, energetic, and collaborative individual for an Outreach and Technology Specialist position whose responsibilities will include helping to foster community connections, sharing library resources with community members, and providing technical assistance to library users. Working closely with the Library Director, the Outreach and Technology Specialist will seek to foster community partnerships, develop programs, and create outreach initiatives that help to bring the library's resources to those who need them most. The person hired for this position will attend special events like the town's annual Marlborough Day and Gathering on the Green celebrations in addition to local community events or programs both in Marlborough and in neighboring towns. The individual hired for this position must be able to set up outreach events on their own with or without assistance, including setting up a tent, tables, putting out marketing materials, and setting up table displays. The Outreach and Technology Specialist will assist the Library Director with promoting library initiatives like Library Card Sign Up Month and National Library Week. The person hired for this position must be comfortable with technology and able to assist library users with learning how to use technology. They will be expected to design and teach computer and technology classes to adults both at the library as well as in various locations throughout town (specifically the Senior Center and Senior Housing). The Outreach and Technology Specialist will oversee the library's homebound delivery program. When not scheduled for an outreach activity, this candidate will assist staff with covering the circulation desk.

Schedule: Willing to work with the right candidate to finalize a set schedule. Will include at least one morning and one evening in addition to weekend hours that vary depending on outreach programs/events. The candidate can expect approximately 15-17 hours per week will additional hours possible due to outreach events.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree and prior library experience are required as well as strong customer service skills. Must have a valid CT driver's license and dependable transportation. Candidates must have strong customer service skills and be a team player. The ideal candidate is an extrovert who has a friendly, upbeat, calm demeanor.

Hourly Wage: $20.75
