Library Director

Trumbull Library System. The Board of Trustees of the Trumbull Library System is seeking an energetic and innovative individual for the position of Library Director of the Trumbull Library System, which consists of the main library and one branch.  The Trumbull Library System serves a population of 35,000 residents with an annual budget of $1.7 million and a staff of 48 full-time and part-time employees. The director should have the ability to establish positive working relationships with the staff, the general public and municipal and elected officials.  The director’s responsibilities include developing and instituting the goals established by the library’s 2015 strategic plan, preparing the library budget, overseeing library programs and functions, as well as the introduction of current and emerging digital technologies. Working with the Board of Trustees, the director is expected to assist with fundraising opportunities, including revenue sources from grants and private donors.Qualifications: Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited program, a minimum of 3 years of experience in a public library and management experience. Salary: $85,537.00 - $93,425.00 Medical, dental, and retirement benefits in accordance with the appropriate union contract.
