Circulation Assistant (Daytime Supervisor) - Sacred Heart University

Circulation Assistant (Daytime Supervisor) - Ryan-Matura Library, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. Reporting to the Circulation Librarian, the Circulation Assistant supervises daytime circulation and print reserve services to the academic community, including registration of patrons and problem resolution. In addition, the Circulation Assistant coordinates recalls; trains and supervises student assistants; communicates and enforces library policies; works with the Library's online circulation system; is cross-trained to perform other duties in a "back up" capacity, e.g.; ILL and stack maintenance; and performs other duties related to circulation services at the Ryan-Matura Library. The normal schedule for this position during the academic year is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The schedule varies during holidays, intersession, summer sessions, and in response to operational needs. Requirements: Library Technical Assistant degree or some college; computer literacy; organizational skills; close attention to detail and the ability to work well with patrons and staff. Bachelor's degree, relevant library experience, supervisory experience and familiarity with library systems are preferred. The University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition.
