Children's Librarian - Southington Library and Museum

Children's Librarian - Southington Library and Museum is looking for an energetic individual to join the staff of our very busy children’s department. Applicants should have experience in planning, publicizing and implementing programs for children ranging in age from toddler to middle-schooler as well as a demonstrable knowledge of children’s literature. Familiarity with Sierra/Encore is a plus.
     Southington Library’s Children’s Department is known for innovative, forward-thinking programming. The successful applicant will be comfortable with new technology and will be social media savvy. Those invited for an interview will be required to present an idea for a 21st century children’s program.
     The position is for 20 to 23 hours per week - nights and weekends are required. Pay is $30.83/hour with vacation and full benefits.
     A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university is required.
