Evening and Weekend Library Monitor - Choate Rosemary Hall Andrew Mellon Library.
The Evening and Weekend Library Monitor works with the Library Database
Manager to assist faculty and students to retrieve information from the
collection, encourages faculty and students to learn the most efficient
ways to use the library, and supports fellow staff members by
consistently enforcing the library's rules and regulations.
Duties and responsibilities: 1. Provides exemplary
customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors and monitors
library atmosphere during evening study hours to ensure that an academic
atmosphere is maintained. 2. Shelves books as needed. 3. Covers the
circulation desk and processes materials for the shelves. 4. Undertakes
special projects. 5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Ability to work well with young people
and others and provide excellent customer service. Proficiency with
Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet preferred. Basic knowledge of
computer software and hardware required. Must be reliable, flexible, and
a team player. Ability to work evenings/weekends. Should be available
to cover other shifts when necessary.
Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly
walk up and down stairs. Ability to work in book stacks - which includes
climbing on stools to reach books on high shelves and to read call
numbers of books on the bottom shelf. Must be able to move books when
the collection needs to be shifted.
