Adult Circulation Assistant Department Head - Howard Whittemore Library, Naugatuck. 30 hours/week. $14.00/hr; generous benefits. Supervise the Adult Circulation Department, schedule staff, and handle patron concerns in absence of the Department Head. Occasional evening and Saturday hours include some Reference Desk coverage. Disseminate publicity via print and social media, and create flyers. Assist Reference and Adult Programming Librarian with selection and planning of adult programs. Must have technological proficiency (including MS Word), and exceptional oral and written communication skills. BA, 2-4 years public library experience including reference service, experience and creativity with adult programming, and ability to serve a diverse population and work with a variety of personalities required as well as demonstrated mathematical aptitude, time management ability, precision with details, and understanding of library policies and procedures. Website maintenance and social media skills, and familiarity with Evergreen or similar circulation system and MS Publisher preferred.
