Reference Internship - Westport Library

Reference Internship Opportunity - The Westport Library (CT) is excited to offer a new internship to MLS candidates. The Internship Program has been designed to offer practical, on the job, resume enhancing experiences to MLS candidates pursuing a career in reference services. Over the course of the internship, the selected intern will have the opportunity to shadow librarians at a dynamic public library reference desk as well as assist them with off-desk assignments. In partnership with a mentor librarian, the intern will have the opportunity to design and teach a technology class and create a resource guide on a subject needed by the community. The intern will also have an opportunity to work with the MakerSpace team, and Programming Department on special projects. Eligibility and requirements: Applicants must be enrolled in a Master of Library Science Program and have completed at least four graduate level library science courses, including a reference course. The rate is $20 per hour, dependent on experience, for 10-15 hours per week for approximately 5 months. Please send a resume and cover letter to jobs@westportlibrary.org.
