Part Time Library Clerk for Circulation Services - Bethel Public Library. Average 16 hrs/wk. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Working knowledge of computers and office software preferred. Knowledge of automated library systems and the Internet a plus. Library experience is desirable. Job Description: The Library Clerk assists patrons in the use of library services and facilities and provides prompt and courteous patron service in person and over the telephone. Activities primarily include Circulation Department services, which encompass use of the library’s electronic system for charging, discharging, and renewal of library materials, patron registration, collection and payment of fines, placing patron holds and directing patrons as needed with general information about the library’s services. The Part Time Library Clerk is responsible for assisting with jobs outlined for full time staff members and may be assigned to one or more departments to perform a variety of clerical tasks.
