Access Services/Document Delivery Assistant P/T

Quinnipiac University is seeking to hire Part-time Access Services and Document Delivery Assistant, this is a 20 hour a week position offering pro-rated benefits. The hours for this position are: Monday-Thursday 3-8pm (during the academic year) and Monday-Thursday 12-5pm (summers and intersession). The Part-time Access Services and Document Delivery Assistant will provide support for the operations of access services and document delivery of the Health Science Library. Responsibilities include, Search OCLC and other systems to identify potential suppliers of articles and books, search the university print and electronic collections to fill lending requests. Searches will involve using available technology, such as ILLiad, DOCLINE, and email. Interpret and comply with CONTU Guidelines (National Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works) for complying with provisions of copyright law governing photocopy requests. Basic office duties including departmental mail distribution, answering phones, take and relay messages, answer questions within scope of knowledge and authority. Cover the Health Sciences Library Circulation Desk including utilizing pertinent functions of the Innovative Interfaces system find materials, checking in/out books, shelving some books, etc. Responsible for closing the health science library and all related duties. Assist in the supervision of student assistants. Coordinate with Health Science Library staff to have a working knowledge of library offerings and to maintain the order and integrity of the periodical stacks. Assist in special projects and compiles data in MS Excel to create spreadsheets as assigned. And other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Preferred knowledge of a Library, High school diploma or equivalent required; broad specialized training preferred. Flexible schedule is required.
