Part-time Educational Assistant (LIBRARIAN) -

Housatonic Community College Temporary position To be determined - Appointment contingent upon funding approval Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program. Experience in field required. Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication are required, allowing applicant to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Incumbent must be able to push and lift objects up to 20 lbs. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position and by providing appropriate references.  Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons. Experience in a higher education setting. Teaching/Instructional experience. Work as reference librarian.  Experience with LibGuides. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Library Services: Instruct students in library research skills in individual situation. Provides bibliographic instruction as needed. Assignment as reference librarian. Provides assistance to faculty and staff as needed.
