Substitute Librarian

New Canaan Library is seeking an enthusiastic and technology-savvy librarian with excellent customer service skills to join the Adult Services Team.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual with demonstrated knowledge of Library services and resources, who is skilled at readers’ advisory, comfortable with teaching members to use a broad array of computer software and mobile devices, and agile with new and emerging technologies.  Specific responsibilities include: staffing the Information Desk to provide reference and readers’ advisory service; providing assistance to members in locating information and library materials; assisting members with their technology needs; and other projects as assigned.  Requirements:  MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited library school.  Students in their final terms of completing their MLIS degree may be considered.  This position will operate on a regular schedule, up to 10 hours per week, which will include some weekend hours.  To apply, please email cover letter and resume to Christle Chumney, Adult Services Manager, at cchumney@newcanaanlibrary.org.
