Temporary Children's Librarian -
Wallingford Public Library
has a temporary opportunity for a dynamic part-time Children's
Librarian. This appointment will begin on November 1, 2015 and continue
for three months or until the end of the incumbent’s leave. Library
service to children and their families is a priority at the Wallingford
Public Library. Our Children's Room provides children and caregivers
with a quality collection of materials, expert help locating materials
for both recreational and informational needs, and programs to encourage
a love of reading, learning, and exploring the world around them. This
20-24 hour per week position requires creativity, flexibility and the
ability to multitask, as well as excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, knowledge of children's literature, and enthusiasm
for working with children of all ages and their caregivers. In addition
to providing excellent customer service at our Information Desk, this
person will conduct three story time programs per week for children ages
1-5. Hours will include two evenings per week and one Saturday a month.
Hourly rate up to $27.37 depending on qualifications. MLS preferred.
