Librarian I - Wethersfield Library.
Are you a Librarian who is very comfortable with technology, can handle
competing demands, and enjoys working with the public? Are you
creative, flexible and have a sense of humor? Self-motivated and
self-directed? If you are, then Wethersfield Library needs you as a
full-time Librarian for adult information and technology services. Join
us as we work to meet the continually changing needs of the
Wethersfield community. Among your duties, you will be staffing the
adult services desk, assisting patrons and staff with use of library
computers and devices, troubleshooting computer hardware and software
issues, working with IT consultants to ensure an efficient technology
environment for the library’s digital services, updating and maintaining
the library’s website and social media, planning and conducting
classes on computer use and emerging technologies for the public and
staff, using social media marketing, and collection development. As a
successful candidate, you will have an ALA-accredited Master of Library
Science. Strong technology skills are required. Experience in
providing friendly customer service at a busy and demanding public
service desk is a plus. Other desired skills include experience in
library hardware and software management, computer class instruction,
Dreamweaver and Constant Contact. Work hours are generally 9am-5pm, with
Monday 1-9pm, approximately one Saturday per month and no Sundays. This
is a union position with good benefits and a current starting salary of
$51,191 (as of July 1st $52,215) for 35-hr work week. To apply, please
