Part-time Bookmobile (Outreach) Youth Librarian - Ferguson Library,
Stamford, is currently seeking qualified applicants for a part-time
outreach position on the Library’s Bookmobile. With private funding the
Library is initiating an outreach day on the Bookmobile to target
Pre-schools, Community Centers, and under-served Neighborhoods in
Stamford, CT. Are you enthusiastic, creative, and adventurous; do you
enjoy working with all ages from preschoolers to teens, including
teachers and counselors? We are looking for that special
service-oriented librarian or educator who is passionate about reaching
out into Stamford’s diverse community and promoting the joy of reading
through programming such as storytimes, reader’s advisory, and homework
assistance. The successful candidate will have experience working with
youth, and a strong knowledge of children’s and teen materials.
Flexibility and a sense of humor are essential. Hours: Part-time, 8-9
hours, one day per week witha potential for more hours as a substitute
in one of the branches. Hourly rate of pay: Commensurate with degree and
experience. Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year
experience working in a library or educational setting. Relevant
experience working with young people is required. Spanish Language is
