Head Librarian - Bakerville Library, New Hartford. The Bakerville Library Board of Directors is seeking a candidate with strong communication, customer service, and technology skills to direct a small, rural library in New Hartford, CT. The position is approximately 25 hours per week. The librarian is responsible for the purchase and circulation of library materials, the supervision and training of assistants and volunteer staff, the preparation of financial and statistical reports, and some library programming. The candidate should have experience with automated circulation systems, demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers, especially Word, and be comfortable in an online environment. The librarian reports to the Board of Directors and is required to attend six board meetings a year. Other duties are dictated by the needs of the library. Salary will be based on experience and education. No benefits. Library experience is preferred.
