Librarian 2, Night Supervisor - University of Connecticut Health Center, Lyman Maynard Stowe Library, Farmington. 2013-630. The night supervisor assumes responsibility for all departmental services evenings and weekends. Provides patron reference services utilizing library systems, material and database searching. Teaches classes as assigned. Hires, trains, schedules student workers. Assists with the hiring of other staff. Maintains the Voyager patron database and oversees patron registration. Manages the Reserve system for Library materials. Oversees space/stack utilization projects, studies and statistics. Processes Interlibrary loan requests. Recommends, develops, updates departmental policies and procedures. Prepares statistical reports. Assists with departmental long range planning. Assists with performance evaluations. Attends professional meetings and participates in professional organizations. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Required—Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Considerable knowledge of professional principles and practices of library science concepts in a university, research, public or academic health science setting. Considerable knowledge of library systems, techniques, resources and equipment. Knowledge of interrelationships between public, technical and automated library services. Considerable Interpersonal skills and customer service skills. Considerable oral and written communication skills. Ability to analyze and solve moderately complex problems relating to library methods and procedures. Some supervisory ability. Experience and Training—General Experience: A Master's Degree in Library Science from a school accredited by the American Library Association, plus one (1) year of post graduate degree employment in a relevant area of professional library work. A minimum of one (1) year of experience must have been at a level equivalent to Librarian. 1. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with an Integrated Library System. Considerable computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office. Ability to multitask. Ability to promote library services. Experience in a college or university library. Work Schedule: Sunday 1:30pm - 10:00pm, Monday - Thursday 2:30pm - 11:00pm. 30 minute unpaid meal break. Full Time Equivalent Minimum Salary $60,179.00.
