Head of Children's Services - Wallingford Public Library

Head of Children's Services - Wallingford Public Library seeks a dynamic, knowledgeable and experienced Head of Children's Services to lead our thriving children's department and its staff of three full-time children's librarians. Wallingford Public Library is an Association Library with a $2.8 million budget and a long history of excellent Town government support. The 67,000 sq. ft building was expanded and renovated in 2008 and bustles with activity 65 hours per week. The Library is a vibrant community center, with circulation over 700,000 annually. Wallingford Public Library is a founding member of the Libraries on Line (LION) consortium, and has a small branch to serve the Yalesville section of town. The Town of Wallingford is located midway between New Haven and Hartford, as well as New York City and Boston, and is home to over 45,000 residents, 11 public schools, hundreds of businesses, and the Choate Rosemary Hall School. Qualifications: A Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university plus three years of progressively responsible library administration experience, including one year in a supervisory or lead capacity in a children's library service, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range: $59,199 - $74,285 depending on qualifications. Comprehensive medical and dental benefits, generous vacation, and TIAA-CREF retirement plan.
