Systems Librarian - Southern Connecticut State University

Systems Librarian - Southern Connecticut State University is currently recruiting a Tenure-Track Assistant Librarian – Systems Librarian. Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities: The Systems Librarian provides leadership for planning, implementing, and managing library systems, digital services, and information technologies, serves on a variety of internal and external committees, maintains the library website and other library systems, and provides staff technology training. The Systems Librarian may also serve as liaison to one or more academic departments, providing subject-specific instruction, creating instructional materials and developing collections. Required Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS, or equivalent. Minimum of two years of current professional experience with an integrated library system. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines. Familiarity with emerging trends in library services and systems. Experience with web site development. Experience with OCLC and document delivery systems. Experience with Windows operating systems. Familiarity with Macintosh platforms and familiarity with programing languages. Preferred Qualifications: Academic library experience. Experience with staff training. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Incorporated comprehensive automated system, Ariel, and ILLIAD. Experience with electronic reserves and digitization software. Experience with link resolvers and citation managers software. Experience with CCS, HTML, PHP, Mac OS, UNIX, and Linux.
