Electronic Resources Librarian - Mitchell College

Electronic Resources Librarian - Part-time, academic year appointment. Meets CLA minimum salary standards. Mitchell College seeks an energetic and creative individual to participate in the work of the Information Resources and Curriculum Support (IRCS) team in a merged Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) environment. The Electronic Resources Librarian works collaboratively with faculty, LITS staff, and students to develop and deliver electronic resources that support the curriculum, improve the information literacy program, and foster independent use of the library. Works with the IRCS team to oversee the development of the library's electronic collection, as well as strengthen online services to students and faculty on and off-campus. Other duties may include provide training in use of technology-based services / resources and collection development in assigned subject areas. The position will require some evening and/or weekend duty within a 20-hour work week. Preferred qualifications: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited library school. Minimum of two years professional library experience and demonstrated professional accomplishments. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise with a variety of web-deliverable instructional module authoring tools and web applications. Familiarity with standard practices in web development and delivery, including usability issues. Academic library experience working with electronic and print information resources and providing reference and instructional services. Experience in working with publishers and vendors of electronic resources. Strong technological expertise including use and administration of online library resources and services. Current awareness of issues and trends in information technology and public services. Excellent organizational and communication skills and commitment to providing responsive and innovative services. Demonstrated flexibility in dealing with people, technology, and multiple priorities.
