Circulation Assistant (Evening Supervisor) - Sacred Heart University

Circulation Assistant (Evening Supervisor) - The Ryan-Matura Library of Sacred Heart University seeks qualified candidates for the position of Circulation Assistant (Evening Supervisor). Reporting to the Circulation Librarian, the Circulation Assistant supervises evening circulation and print reserve services to the academic community, including registration of patrons and problem resolution. In addition, the Circulation Assistant coordinates stack maintenance; filing of library serial services; trains and supervises student assistants; communicates and enforces library policies; works with the Library's online circulation system; is cross-trained to perform other duties in a "back up" capacity, e.g.; ILL and E-Reserves; and performs other duties related to circulation services and stack maintenance. The normal schedule for this position during the academic year is Sunday through Thursday, 4:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. The schedule varies during holidays, intersession, summer sessions, and in response to operational needs. Requirements: Computer literacy; organizational skills; mechanical ability; close attention to detail and the ability to work well with patrons and staff. Preferred: Library Technical Assistant degree or some college; relevant library experience; supervisory experience and familiarity with library systems.
