Evening/Weekend Reference Librarian - Immediate Opening. The Ryan-Matura Library of Sacred Heart University seeks an evening/weekend reference librarian to provide reference service and supervise operations during evening hours, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility is desirable for working as a substitute for other evening/weekend reference staff. Schedule varies during holidays, summer and intersessions. The evening/weekend reference librarians provide reference service to students, faculty, staff, and the general public using a collection of 23,000 reference, and approx. 131,000 circulating volumes; 18,000 periodical titles in print and online; and a variety of online databases. May be called upon to provide organized instruction sessions. Requirements: Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution. Ability to work with a variety of resources and subjects. Teaching ability. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Commitment to providing credible reference service.
