Curriculum Center Univ. Asst., Evenings - ECSU, Willimantic

Curriculum Center University Assistant, Evenings - J. Eugene Smith Library, Eastern Connecticut State University. Under the direction of the Curriculum Center Librarian, the University Assistant will perform some or all of the following duties: Supervise student workers; Assists patrons in selection of materials and recommends materials in all formats; Compile Curriculum Center traffic statistics Monitor Center's Computer Lab; Provide general assistance to patrons in operating library equipment such as microfiche readers, copiers, digitizers, etc. and reports problems to the Center librarian; Delegate assignments to student assistants such as shelf reading by specific area; Complete Curriculum projects as assigned by Librarian; Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The University Assistant must be able to: provide effective library services to students, faculty, and the general public; perform public services work with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff members, and community library users; work under stress, with courtesy, calmness and good judgment; work in a team environment with other library staff, as well as independently in an emergency staffing situation; work with the Library's ILS and personal computer software to perform assigned functions; perform detailed work accurately; work evenings and weekends with great dependability. Must be willing and able to work some evening and weekend hours as necessary. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with library automated circulation systems, experience in supervising students, experience with using curriculum materials, experience with installing computer software and the ability to use Microsoft products to create educational materials.
