Advanced Services Librarian - Fairfield County, CT. Among the clients of this major library services firm are Fortune 500 biomedical, pharmaceutical, and technological firms and academic institutions in the US and overseas. They have over two decades of experience in all facets of library service. The firm is seeking a librarian with strong analytical and decision making skills, able to multi-task, manage change, and meet expectations. THE POSITION: Responsible for managing and overseeing Advanced Service orders. This position conducts advanced reference work and citation verification utilizing specialized internal and external databases to manage and process orders. Communicate with Customer Service on orders, as well as ensuring that all incoming orders are dealt with in a timely manner. Also responsible for maintaining workflow and pricing policies, ensuring adequate profit margins on all transactions. The position reports to the Vice President for Operations. REQUIREMENTS: MLS from an ALA accredited institution required, plus 3-5 years experience in a corporate or academic library preferred. Proficiency using Dialog, DataStar, PubMed, SciFinder, STN, Factiva and LexisNexis required. Subject matter experience in at least one of the following: Pharmaceuticals, Medical/Health Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Business or Manufacturing. Proven customer service orientation, project follow-through, proficiency with desktop software with strong aptitude for learning new software. Job Code FT-03 (resumes in Word preferred).
